Trompe L'oeil depicting the History of Chinatown in San Jose, California in the 1800s. The past settlements of Chinatown laid in what is currently the heart of Downtown San Jose. Archaeological diggings found artifacts from the archaeological diggings included celadon porcelain, jade jewelry and buttons depicted here hinted at a trying but simple life for the Chinese who came to California during the gold rush.
